About this tour
The classic first trip to Uzbekistan: modern Tashkent, the walled town of Khiva, the living old town of Bukhara and the blue domes of Samarkand. In each city a private guide in your language shows you around; trains and transfers connect the pieces. We can also help you choose and book hotels. Every day can be changed — it is your trip.

The route

Day 1 · Tashkent
Arrival, the old town, Chorsu Bazaar and the metro.

Day 2 · To Khiva
Flight or train to Urgench, transfer to Khiva, Itchan Kala at sunset.

Day 3 · Khiva
A full day in the walled inner town.

Day 4 · To Bukhara
Train or road across the Kyzylkum desert.

Day 5 · Bukhara
The old town, the trading domes and the Ark fortress.

Day 6 · Samarkand
High-speed train to Samarkand, Registan and Gur-e-Amir.

Day 7 · Samarkand
Shah-i-Zinda and Siab Bazaar, then the train to Tashkent.
